Why is it so important?
The vehicles that went through major accidents and that have a damaged frame (chassis) could be dangerous for a driver and the passengers because after the accident the frame is being stretched out (picture 1) in body shop and with a future possible similar accident the vehicle will be bend due to the existing seams from the previous accident. Also there are body shops that cut accident vehicles for parts and then make one by joining a few parts together (picture 2, 3).
It is obvious that the geometry of the vehicle that was engineered at automobile plant changes, that means that the vehicle might be pulled to the side while driving. Driving fast in this kind of vehicle could be unsafe. Also fuel consumption could raise and the tires could wear off faster. There are a lot more changes that could happen after the accident.
Geneva Autoshow This car was introduced at Geneva Auto Show by mobile.de, an analog of canadian autotrader.ca. They've joint Volkswagen and BMW to show and warn people that this kind of frauds exist in the market. Now what do you think - is it going to be a problem for professionals to make a car by joining two crushed Mercedes?
